The Motor Museum and Stanley’s Barn.

Overview

The Gold Coast Motor Museum is set on 12 acres in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland. It offers a diverse collection of cars, motorbikes and memorabilia, spanning from the mid-1800s to 2010.

You will also discover Stanleys Barn Restaurant and Bar, designed with century-old, recycled materials this is also home to an unrestored 1924 Stanley Steam car.

The property is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

Whilst there is no need to book in advance for the museum it is advisable to book for the restaurant, there is an entry fee to access the museum.

Adjacent to the Museum is a magnificent café/restaurant and bar. Other attractions at the property include farm animals and a collection of rusty relics.

Getting Here

We are located at 107 Kriedeman Road, Upper Coomera at the base of Mt Tamborine, it is about 10 minutes from the Oxenford overpass and a 30/40-minute drive from the heart of the Gold Coast, 40/60 minutes’ drive from Brisbane. There is no public transport available.

Parking

There are two designated accessible parking spaces at the entrance to the museum and another two spaces at the entrance to the restaurant. They are clearly marked.

There are clear accessible pathways from all parking to both the museum and restaurant.

The Experience

The Motor Museum

Museum entrance

The museum features a broad range of vehicles, motorbikes, memorabilia, a classic boat and other interesting items not seen in many other museums.

Museum entry is via the reception area. You can purchase your all-day pass for access to the museum. Companion cards are accepted, companions of the card holders enter free of charge.

The reception counter is 1100 millimetres high. There are souvenirs for sale, and they are arranged on shelves of different heights.

Once inside the museum you will follow a wide walkway between the cars which will bring you back to the reception area.

The walkway is firm and flat and is a minimum of 1000mm. There are information signs around the museum which are set at 900mm high.

The overhead lighting creates some glare on the floor. There is also music playing in the background.

There is one resting space about halfway around the circuit, it is a bench seat with arms at either end, but it does not have a backrest. There is a second resting space at the end of the walk. It is an old church pew with arms and a backrest. There is a Model T car where you can have your photo taken inside. Children must be accompanied by a parent for this activity.

Stanleys Barn

The outside seating at Stanleys. There is a clear accessible pathway from the Museum to Stanleys Barn.

Stanleys award winning chefs create international flavours using the best Australian produce and the friendly staff are happy to assist you to relax and enjoy your dining experience.

There is seating inside, consisting of tables and chairs. The chairs have backrests but no arms. Outside offers a mix of high tables and stools and picnic tables and chairs.

The bar counter is 1190mm high. Table service is available.

 Amenities

There is a unisex accessible bathroom located next to Stanleys Barn. It has a sign outside in tactile and Brialle and the door width is 870mm. The toilet is LH transfer; the pan height is 460mm and the grabrail is 800mm H. The basin has 660mm clear space underneath and has a sensor tap. The soap dispenser is 1300mm high and the hand dryer is 1295mm high.

There is also a baby change table in the bathroom.

There are also ambulant toilets in both the male and female bathrooms.

There is a handbasin and mirror in the bathroom.
